How to have an amazing voice?! We want to give you the trick to speak from the diaphragm.
The Diaphragm is the big muscles between your lungs and your stomach. When you speak from the diaphragm, so you can have a really strong, relaxed voice.
There are two bad postures that make you never speak from the diaphragm:
- When you’re completely collapsed, so your diaphragm isn’t engaged. Rounded shoulders, forward head, humpback, etc. — obstructs your airways, preventing you from breathing properly and also from speaking properly.
- When using a lot of muscles as you speak and there is tension in your speaking, that’s the other way of sounding strained. That’s why some body buildings speak improperly. They are using their muscles extra hard.
Try speaking sometimes if you’re really physically very tense, it doesn’t really work.
Any tension limits the flexibility of the ribs, and ideally you want your ribs to be flexible and be able to expand.
So, what you want is something in between. You want to be energized, and at the same time you want to do moves in and out.
When you breathe, there should be a little bit movement in and out, not a lot, but a little. That’s what you’re looking for.
What you want is the flexibility. You want to be alive.
The keyword is you want The Diaphragm to be engaged. You should remember that you want the diaphragm to get engaged, and how to engage it.
Let us give you the big secret. You want to do something that we all can do very easily.
You see what happens when you laugh! You need to find something to laugh about.
So, the trick is to laugh…When you laugh, you naturally engage your diaphragm. You engage your diaphragm, and then you use the same kind of voice that might come out when you’re laughing.
So, right now you’re using the same voice and it places your voice in a perfect spot. It has a lot of chess resonance. It also has head resonance. Actually, it gives your voice more resonance.
Use your laugh to let your voice do its thing within engaged diaphragm. That’s your big trick.
This doesn’t occur when you’re completely overstressed, or when you are completely collapsed. You simply use the same voice that you might have when you laugh to speak.
When using your diaphragm to speak, your voice will have the energy to be heard at great distances without
shouting.
